Project Developer

Thayer Design Build is seeking a Project Developer to join our high-performance design-build team and lead the planning and pre-construction work that sets our projects up for success.
About the Role
The Project Developer plays a critical role in guiding projects from design into construction. This position focuses on planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability—ensuring projects are clearly defined, properly scoped, accurately estimated, and ready to build.
You’ll work closely with designers, trade partners, and the production team to translate design intent into executable construction plans within a disciplined, high-performance workflow where clarity and follow-through matter.
What You’ll Do
- Develop clear, detailed written scopes of work
- Prepare estimates and budgets for labor and materials
- Request, receive, review, and organize trade and vendor proposals
- Coordinate with designers to ensure constructability and clarity
- Review plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy
- Apply for and track building permits
- Build and maintain project schedules
- Support clean handoff into construction
- Communicate professionally with clients, trade partners, and internal team members
