Thayer Design Build is growing, and we’re looking for another great person to join our field team.

We care about carpentry skills, but we care even more about character.

We’re looking for someone who works hard, takes pride in what they do, treats people well, communicates clearly, and wants to be part of a strong team. You might be a capable carpenter who is still developing your skills, or you might be an experienced Lead Carpenter who can take ownership of complex residential remodeling work.

About the Role

Our carpenters work on high-quality residential remodeling projects throughout Corvallis, Albany, Philomath, and the surrounding area.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

• Site protection and demolition
• Framing, blocking, headers, and structural modifications
• Installing windows, doors, siding, and exterior finishes
• Cabinetry, trim, millwork, and finish carpentry
• Punch-list and detail work
• Material handling and jobsite logistics
• Maintaining clean, safe, professional jobsites
• Communicating respectfully with homeowners, subcontractors, and teammates
• Planning work, solving problems, and helping projects stay on schedule

For more experienced candidates, there may also be opportunities to lead portions of projects, coordinate subcontractors, manage day-to-day jobsite activities, and take on greater project responsibility.

Experience

We’re open to different experience levels.

Ideally, you have:

• 3+ years of residential construction or carpentry experience
• Experience with both rough and finish carpentry
• Your own basic carpentry tools
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• A solid employment history and professional references
• The ability to perform physically demanding construction work throughout the day

Extensive remodeling or Lead Carpenter experience is a major plus, but it is not required for the right person.
